7) What do you think this play reveals about our need for freedom?About courage and hope? About good and evil?

this play helped me to understand how freedom is important to our life. it shows how it is difficult to live without freedom and hide in secret Annex.
I think if they didn't have courage and hope they can't live in the Annex because if they didn;t have them they will give up very quickly and maybe they will leave the Annex.

6) Why are there so many books, movies, documentaries, etc. about the Holocaust? Why do we keep retelling this story?

there many books, movies, documentaries, etc. about the Holocaust because to tell people that during the holocaust there were many peope in Jewish punished by German and lived very sadly everyday. I think we keep retelling this story because to make people don't forget about how the Jewish people were lived and how they were treated by German during the Holocaust.

5) e

Act I, Scenes 4, 5: How do the events following Anne’s nightmare reveal tensions between Anne and two other members of the household?

Anne's nightmare reveal that Mr. Dussel and Anne's personality is different . when I read scenes 4 and 5, I could know that he was mad when she was screaming in the slient. he didn't understand about Anne and he went to W.C for peace and quiet.

5) c

Act I, Scenes 1-3: Do Anne and Peter seem to have typical teenage attitudes toward their families? Go back to the text for examples to support your response.

I think Peter seem to have typical teenage attitudes. Peter wanted to stay alone and doesn't want to talk but Anne always bother him and want to talk to him. I think these kind of action shows Anne's attitude. Most of teenagers they want to talk and share the things with people or friends. I think Anne is a teenager girl when she talk with Peter.

5) A

Act 1: "But always remember this, Anneke. There are no walls, there are no bolts, no locks that anyone can put on your Mind".
I agree with this statement and I think this statement means that no one can block her dreams , her goals, or her skills even though she is Jewish.

5) d

List the conflicts that have developed among the characters by the end of Scene 3.

Conflict between Anne and her mother.Mrs. Frank always compare with Margot, when Anne did something wrong she always said to Anne 'do like Margot'. you can see the conflict between them on pg 388. Anne spilled the milk accidently on Mrs. Van's fur coat and it made Mrs. Van angry. when Mrs. Van say somehing Anne answering back. After these things happened Mrs. Frank became upset about Anne and she started to compare with Margot like before, Anne became very angry about her mother is comparing with margot then she ran in to her room.

5) B

Act 1, Scenes 1-3: what do you think would be the hardest part of life in the Secret Annex?

I thinks the hardest time in the secret Annex is when it is 8 o'clock(pm) because you can't turn the light on, you can't move, you can't go to the bathroom, you can't make noises and you can't do anything. I think it would be difficult to live in the Secret Annex.

4) Foreshadowing

Foreshadowing is the use of clues or hints to suggest events that will occur later in the plot. Why does Mr. Frank break down when he sees the glove?

I think Mr. Frank break down when he sees the glove because the memories were came back from his mind, the hard time when he was living in the secret Annex with his family and friends. it makes Mr. Frank more sad. I think that glove was belong to his family or it is important thing for him, and it made him break down.

3. What do you think the play's theme(s) is/are?

I think the play's theme is that even though Anne's family and others lived in the secret place, they can have hope and learn things and think positively. Anne always have hope and even though she wants to go outside she tried to force her mind. She didn't give up and she contiued to learn and write. I think this is the theme of this play.

2) What is prejudice? where in the world have you seen prejudice? what are the effects of prejudice?

prejudice is an unreasonable reasons that makes people to decided to dislike someone or somethings. I have seen the prejudice in the news or like in the history books. for exmple many years ago the white people were ignored the black people because of their skin color was different and they make the black people to work and make them to slave. I think the prejudice made people more worth and hurt people alot.

1) What do you know already about the Holocaust

Holocaust is an event in which there is a lot of destruction and many people are killed, especially one caused by war. it affected many Jewish people, and it killed alot of people from Jewish and the people who helped the Jewish. almost 600 million jewish people died because of Holocaust and many million poeple were suffered and tortured by the German.

A boat to nowhere- Theme

I think the theme of this book is that the person who live with people can changed. Kien is the character who changed in this story. First he was mean to the villagers but he started to change.
I think he changed because he stayed with the villagers everyday and he knew that if he respect someone that someone will respect him, too. when he rescued Big Tam he knew that he can help people and rescue someone.

A Boat to nowhere - setting

This book takes place in the Vietnamese village, sea, thailand, and the island named Out cast. First in the book it takes place in the village. the characters were lived in the village but when the Kien and the three strangers came to the village, their life changed. Kien, Mai, Loc, and the Grandfather ran away from the strangers. they went to the Thailand but the people in the land didn't want them to stay.
